Positive reinforcement

Remember star charts from grade school? I tried them once or twice at home, related to chores and privileges, but just wasn't that kind of parent. I wanted to play with stars as rewards, more for me, than for the kids.

Sticky stars, colored stars ... they still move me.

So today, my week is made, I have earned a star. From eBay, in the color of my favorite stone, turquoise.

 

Think about giving your users a star for performance, participation, appreciation. Those of us who are old-school will get it.
